The Calm Walks Compass is a standalone, self-led toolkit for dog guardians who want to take a clear snapshot of their walks with a reactive dog. It gives you the opportunity to pause, reflect, and gain clarity on where you are now and where you want to be.

Inside the toolkit you’ll find your:

    • Self-assessment tool  – identify your strengths, discover your challenges, and create your personalised graph at a glance

    • Values tool – tick the boxes that matter most to you and your dog to clarify what’s important on walks

    • Goal-setting and milestones tool – set practical goals and track progress along your way

    • Annual progress planner – plan and review your year to create calmer, more manageable walks

    • Vision board – create a visual snapshot of your goals to inspire and motivate

The Calm Walks Compass helps you reflect, celebrate progress, and plan practical steps to reduce the intensity and frequency of your dog’s reactivity all in a calm, structured, and encouraging way.

    Dawn Allen

Hi, I’m Dawn and I love supporting people living with dogs that have big reactions and emotions at home and on walks. I understand how challenging life can be with reactivity which is why I created this course. Walks can be particularly difficult so the course puts a spotlight on redefining walks so that they meet our own and our dogs needs for safer, calmer, more enjoyable walks. I wanted to give you clear, compassionate guidance that you can follow at your own pace, from the comfort of your own home.

There's nothing worse than feeling like we have failed our dogs or that we are getting things wrong. Building confidence for more relaxed and enjoyable walks is the aim of this course. My ethos embraces kindness, welfare and up to date behaviour science. You'll get practical steps that help your dog feel calmer and help you feel more confident, relaxed and safe even on those tough walks.

If you’re looking for an ethical, reassuring approach that helps you and your dog move forward together with more ease and connection, you’re in the right place. Let’s get started.

I now understand and appreciate that a walk means something quite special to a dog and that it is something I can facilitate.
